After using aluminum foil to cover the top of a container carrying food, we usually just throw it away. Then a few days later we grab another one and so on and so forth. Every few weeks we go to the grocery store to stock up on some more aluminum foil. What a waste!
You can re-use your aluminum foil so you’ll never have to buy another box again. You can simply wash off any food that might have gotten on it and then fold it into a square and store in your cupboard for the next time you need it. If the piece got ripped into an odd shape or is too small, then and only then can you throw it away.
But you can use aluminum foil for more than just covering your food. Read on for some other ways you can put your used aluminum foil to use.
Place aluminum foil on top of your ironing board and iron your clothes on the aluminum foil. The heat from the iron will reflect off of the foil so you’ll be ironing both the top and the bottom at the same time.
Have some dull scissors? Fold your used aluminum foil a few times to give it some thickness. Then use your scissors to try and cut through it. Doing this will sharpen your scissors.
Wrap your used, torn aluminum foil into a ball and scrub your pots and pans with it. You can even use it to scrub your barbeque grill with it.
Create your own dryer balls using aluminum foil. Grab a tennis ball and wrap it in a couple of layers of aluminum foil. This will reduce static in your dryer.
